- Staffs and registered students of UCMI are eligible to use the library.
- Users are required to display staff/student ID at all times. The library reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone without a valid staff/student ID.
- External users must have written permission from librarian to access the library.
- Visitors who would like to visit our library must bring an official letter from their place of work/study, stating the purpose and duration of visit.
- The library users must adhere to the dress code as stipulated by the college university.
- No bags, umbrellas, parcels, files, animals may be brought into the library. Library staff reserves the right to inspect bags or other personal property when visitor enter or leave the library.
- All users are required to behave considerately and respect others.
- All mobile devices must be switched to silent mode.
- Eating, drinking, smoking, vaping are prohibited. Plain water is permissible.
- Users must maintain library’s cleanliness.
- Library equipment/furniture should not be moved from its designated place.
- Users must not marks, deface or damage library books, furniture or any library asset.
- Library staff reserves the right to inspect bags or personal items when user enter or leave the library.
- Photography and filming in the library are allowed only where prior written permission from library staff has been given.
- No books shall be taken out of the library until the loan has been recorded in the library system.
- Patrons are responsible for library items borrowed in their names.
- Second party loan is prohibited
- Student/Staff ID membership privileges are not transferable.
- Books borrowed from the holding library should be returned to the library where the books are borrowed from.
- Patrons must show their ID during loan transaction at the counter.
- Staff or students who withdraw/leave/resign the university must return all borrowed materials regardless of due dates.
- Renewal can be made online via Library OPAC and log in into your account. Renewal can also be done at the counter.
- Books which are already on loan may be reserved by another borrower.
Open Collection and Green Spot Collection
- Fines for overdue is RM 0.50 per day and maximum fine is RM 200.00.
- Saturday, Sundays, Public Holidays and library closed are not included in fines calculation.
Red Spot Collection
- Fines for overdue is RM 0.50 for every 1/2 hours.
- Saturday, Sundays, Public Holidays and library closed are not included in fines calculation.
- Users must report immediately to Circulation Counter.
- Users must replace the same materials or new edition and processing fee of RM 20.00 or
- Users pay twice the price of the materials and processing fee of RM 20.00.
- Staffs – Deduction from salary.
- Students – Fined / Suspended.
- Students – Suspended for one semester.
- Library computers are for academic use only. For printing purpose, please use specific computer provided for printing.
- Do not change any applications installed in the computers.
- Please Log out/Shutdown computer when you leave a PC.
- Copyright protection in Malaysia is governed by Copyright Act 1987. Library users must comply with copyright law and licensing agreement when using library resources such as ebooks, computers, and photocopying facilities.
Library staffs have the authority to bar any users from using library facilities for any infringement of the Library Rules and Regulations.
Library may amend any library rules and regulations from time to time when necessary without notice.
